out and about in seattle

for my husband's birthday
we went on a food tour downtown

*

our tour guide has the pink umbrella
which came in handy because it's like a river of salmon on the sidewalk

I always have to get a picture of the market signs while I'm there

they're my favorite icon that says "you're in seattle"

we saw several wedding parties being photographed
- it's an atypical backdrop of alleys and graffiti -
but I think it works

but at the gum wall?
I don't know .... ewww!

and the food?

fabulous!
my favorite?
Tom Douglas' Serious Pie: woodfired pizza with morels and truffle cheese
or maybe
Yellow Leaf Cupcake Co.: pancakes and bacon
or was it
The Pike Brewing Co.: Kilt Lifter Ale with Uplifter Cheese from Port Townsend

O my goodness, what a fun day! I think the pink umbrella was a brilliant idea, that crowd was daunting. I'm with you about the gum wall. Next! and a happy late birthday to your husband. What's better than a cake? an all day meal!!

It's incredible that we both took trips this week. I so enjoyed Seattle when I was there, and the images brought back so many positive memories. Sadly, I never got to see the gum wall, although I took in a lot of downtown and Market sights. Awesome photos, as usual, Kimmie. And a happy belated birthday to your hubby, too.

How fun! With the exception of the gum wall. I don't know that I could bring myself to walk past that one. EEWWWW!

Ohhh! We are headed to Olympia and Seattle this week for the first time! Kilt Lifter is on C's list of things to pursue!

Sounds like fun. When I lived and worked in downtown New Orleans, I would get together with friends after work and we would visit several different restaurants -- having appetizers at one, salad at another, main dish at the next and then someplace else for dessert (drinks included). Boy was that fun! That gum wall is ewwwww! :) Best wishes, Tammy

Is the little French patissiere at the bottom of the hill still, oh the pastries were divine, but pancakes and bacon sound good. Not on my WW diet I bet though. I will have to eat them virtually. xox

I love the market place there. There is something to photograph around every corner...and more! People really are generous, aren't they? You'd be surprised at what you receive in the mail just because you've made a connection with someone via your blog. I love that!
