a dream?

this morning's sky was brilliant and beautiful
it set everything aglow

(above) a painting from the car
and (below) a valentine matchbox

in yesterday's post I said I was "living the dream"
and I'm feeling like that was a braggy thing to say
honestly - it's a day to day thing
most days are actually really very complicated with the stuff of life

like today:
a child with a sore throat
another one with a skinned knee
late to pick up another one after school
the dog dragging me down the street
(even saying my favorite swear word in combination with my dog's name)
a broken plate that was an heirloom
gross leftovers for dinner
dusty dirty house
unfolded laundry
and on and on
you know what I mean
:)

and the living the dream part is:
hugs
kisses
sweet text messages
being asked "how was your day?"
and replying
"I am living the dream"

I love every single thing about this post...the real life day to day stuff and the other very real wonderful things that make the harder parts not so bad.
I bet you make art from that broken plate!
and did you paint that wonderful top picture on fabric? Canvas?
Wow.

When we can see beyond the little annoyances of daily living, then all of us can see 'the dream' part of our lives. If we didn't have that contrast, then we wouldn't have that appreciation, sort of that 'rain then rainbow' thing. Can't have one without the other.
Also, I think if we all 'think' hard enough that good things are happening, then they will....the law of attraction. Loved your post Kimmie.

I love the morning affirmation in your beautiful watercolor and the sweet heart of a matchbox delightful gift. Dreams are so important to our spiritual voice and directions...beautiful words and post. Peace, Mary Helen Fernandez Stewart

A dream is the wish your heart makes when your fast asleep." May you never wake up from the dream, except for the necessities of course, the soothed child, the needy dog, the clean sheets and such. Iis all a part of the dream. Yours is lovely.

I know exactly what you mean but we dreamers mustn't let day to day necessities get in the way. They just happen yet still dreams come true.
Never stop dreaming and to live the dream means you are truly fulfilled.
Your Valentine matchbox is full of amazing parts of dreams past, present and future.

had to chuckle at "gross leftovers." Sometimes I am just too lazy to work up a new meal and am faced with....

your painting is very sweet.

I didn't feel like you were bragging at all. I think you were just being Thankful out loud.
I certainly didn't feel like I was "living the dream" while on my hands and knees scrubbing around the boy's toilet today. But I am still Thankful to be at home...
Sorry for that visual....it wasn't pretty. :)

You don't have to apologize for loving the life you are living and making the most of what you are given. I try to see over all the day-to-day stuff that can sometimes really drag me down. I prefer an attitude of gratitude. I agree with Halle -- you were being grateful out loud! No one's life is perfectly perfect every second of every day but in those moments when we are able to do what we love most, then we are all living a dream. Your little matchbox collections are lovely! Have a great weekend. Tammy
